Hi

Regarding your sound problems there seems to be an issue with VoodooHDA under heavy CPU or IO activity. Just managed today to get a similar problem as you descibe when I was playing from my shared iTunes lib though my wifirouter. I found this thread at VoodooLabs. It might help. Good luck!

Forum category: Support / Compatibility Issues
Forum thread: strange problem with sound stutter and freezes 1000h

yeah but for us "non-pros" there isnt any quite professional tutorial out there i think. would be also great if this community would grow to update the wiki and so on. the wind community for example is very strong, the eeepc community too, but the users out there are on so many different platforms and internet forums so thats difficult to make one good place for us, with all the provided stuff we need to run the different versions 100% usable. i got sooo many problems because of all the different sources of the tuts, (for example the big differences between all dsdt.amls provides in the different driver packages)
i will try tomorrow my … hum … 20th installation i think to let 10.5.8 run with battery and sound support, because i never had that.. and im trying it since september :(

dunno why im posting this ;) but i have to tell this to somebody :P

my system is an eee 1000h 1GB ram 160GB so… just as i bought it. would be great if you can help me if i have further problems tomorrow!

greetings
blakky

Forum category: Support / Installation
Forum thread: 10.5.8 working nicely

I just installed the 1000HE keyboard on my 1000H. Everything works fine— except for the spacebar. I've even tried using KeyRemap4Macbook but there is no way to recognize the spacebar.

I am running the patched 2102 BIOS and matching DSDT file on 10.5.6. I believe I have hotkey enabler kexts running.

Additionally, at the Chameleon bootloader prompt the keyboard will keep entering endless spacebar commands until you press any other key. After that, no spacebar input is recognized. The only application I've found that doesn't like with this mod (crashes after an error message) is Final Draft 7. I have installed Final Draft 6 and still get the error upon startup but it doesn't crash.

Can anyone help?

Forum category: Support / Post-Installation
Forum thread: 1000HE Chiclet keyboard on 1000

yes well in the os x tools utility you can change the processor string in about this mac to Intel Atom or whatever you want no matter what kernel or hardware you have, unlike the aboutthismac.pkg where it detects automatically that u have a core 2 duo. What more could you possibly need?

Forum category: Support / Post-Installation
Forum thread: Don't upgrade to 10.6.2!
It uses the same method as AboutThisMac.pkg, which is simply to change the string for "Unknown" to "Intel Atom" or whatever. It's not actually fixing the underlying processor detection code. Since the patched 10.6.2 kernel is using the Core Solo codepath, Mac OS X believes you have a Core Solo, and will display it as such. It's just a hunch, but I'll wager that using the 10.6.1 kernel with AboutThisMac.pkg would work fine, if you really want to see "Intel Atom" in there.

Forum category: Support / Post-Installation
Forum thread: Don't upgrade to 10.6.2!
I recently purchased a Disney Netpal and would like to install OS X on it. I know it's an Intel 1.6 Ghz N270 processor and Intel GMA945 graphics processor. The WiFi and network card are from Atheros (AR9285 and AR8132 PCI-E respectively). Intel 82801G USB controller. Realtek audio. Has anyone converted one of these or knows a good starting point? I believe based on the specs it's close to a 900HA. Thank you

Forum category: Support / Installation
Forum thread: Disney Netpal

Yep you're right, Mac OS has to control the screen in order sleep to work. But it wasn't the problem for me and it was the DSDT file as I explain in an another post. I try to follow eNik guide to modify DSDT, (especially CPU section) but it appears it break the brightness fix after sleep. So I use my old fix for CPU and it work well.

Forum category: Support / Compatibility Issues
Forum thread: New DSDT for 2204 Bios for 1000H

Hi again dadaz,

So after reinstalling my machine during the weekend I found that (which you also found) it seems that it has more to do with the ability to control the screen, (lacking of good kexts?) than the dsdt file it self. Your dsdt files might be good after all. But the catch is that the computer cannot control the screen for a proper sleep.

When I reinstalled 10.5.6 I realised that sleep didn’t work until installed the patched kexts (GMA 950, AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer). When I forced sleep without the kexts, it tried to sleep like Airport hibernated but that’s all. No sleepimage was written and screen was still on. When I installed the kexts, sleep worked with no problems.

So the point seems to be, that for a proper sleep, Mac OS has to control the screen, otherwise no correct sleep or wakeup. I’ll report if I find anything more on this.

Forum category: Support / Compatibility Issues
Forum thread: New DSDT for 2204 Bios for 1000H

Hi,

I've the same issue with brightness fix after sleep. I build the dsdt under snow, but I have the same issue under snow !!

I had the same issue with 2103 dsdt.

What I don't understand is that the brightness fix is correct in my dsdt file. So I don't understand why it doesn't work. Will try to find why and let you know.

Forum category: Support / Compatibility Issues
Forum thread: New DSDT for 2204 Bios for 1000H

Hi dadaz,

and thanks for all your work with the dsdt files. I made an overhaul (changed HD, etc) and also went for the 2204 bios.
Your dsdt worked but I had some issues with sleep. The sceen was black and I had to hit the brightness key to wake it up.
I tired my old 1902 dsdt file (w Hotkey patch) which worked fine regarding sleep and it still works under 2204.

According to MSI new forum (yes it’s resurrected in a new shape) quite extensive dsdt thread, old dsdt works with newer bios, (seems to be the case here) but what is crucial is if it is constructed under Snow or Leo. Just to check, you made these dsdt with Snow? Can be good to know because I’m still under Leo so that might be the issue.

Thx again dadaz

Forum category: Support / Compatibility Issues
Forum thread: New DSDT for 2204 Bios for 1000H

I tried today to upgrade to 10.6.1 with patching the mach_kernel and it works except bluetooth switch on/off.
What's strange is ,previously, I did try after the very moment the update was available ,to install and after the kernel shift (from 10.6.2 to 10.6.1) the only way to boot without KP was to use the safe mode fix.
Besides I patched the bluetooth stuff and here's the file:
http://www.mediafire.com/?wm5jwjt2my0/IOBluetoothFamily.kext.zip

Forum category: Support / Post-Installation
Forum thread: Don't upgrade to 10.6.2!
Hello Diamondsw

I've used method 2 and (almost) everything is working well. The exception is the ability to control de bluetooth. You refer to a repatch of the bluetooth for power on/off functionality, which seems exactly what I need, but because I'm new in this I don't know exactly what files/method to do that. I arrive to the 10.6.1 system using the procedure explain by eNik. Can you help?

Thanks

Forum category: Support / Post-Installation
Forum thread: Don't upgrade to 10.6.2!
I c an confirm again it work very well. I just made a mistake the Atom is recognize as a Core 2 solo, but activity monitor shows two cores like before.

You can update safely your kernel, just replace the sleepenabler with the new one or you will have kernel panics.

Forum category: Support / Post-Installation
Forum thread: Don't upgrade to 10.6.2!
