Don't forget to backup your dsdt.aml file before!

Step 9 tells you to compile the dsdt.dsl file with iasl, then the previous dsdt.aml file will be updated (Note that this is the same dsdt.aml file that you used to decompile that will be updated! So you can see the date of modification for this file and check if you correctly updated it or not)

Don't know why, but I don't need the last steps, I just need to replace the dsdt.aml that is into the / directory by the one I have updated and the it is well working ;)

Then just reboot :p

Something very very strange happened to me today!

I just upgraded my RAM memory to 2Gb!! And guess what! It killed all my Asus Hotkeys and the battery status too (as shown into the pictures below).

So I decided to try a new install of the package you are sharing! And guess WHAT!!! :D IT IS NOW WORKING hahaa :D

This is very very strange! It works just like eNik described, but it works, YouHou!!

I'm very very happy, and I don't know why it works with 2Gb of RAM but not with 1Gb…

I tested it last night but with not much success either.

I got as far as having it all installed properly but the kext was not responding to any Fn key presses….NONE.

The Fn keys also were not responding to any dsdt fixes applied to the dsdt file that is part of the installation package.

Instead I had a look at making my own basic kext from scratch to see what I can do with these events.

I've managed to make the two skeleton kext programs but am still looking for more guides atm.

This is very impressive work.
I installed it (once I copied my working DSDT and understood that you have to install the "Growl Notify" EXTRA thingy and not only Growl (I'll learn to CAREFULLY read instructions soon, thanks Thireus ;-)).

Now I have working:

• Backlight on/off (FN-F7 and Silver Button 1)
• Backlight +/- (FN-F5/F6)
• Bluetooth on/off (FN-F2)
• Hibernation (FN-F1) This is a KILLER, thanks so much !!!!
• Camera on/off (Silver Button 4)
• Sleep on lid close
• and all the other DSTD fixes seem to work…

Working, but quirky:

• Sound Mute (FN-10) - Always displays "Mute ON"
• Sound Voulume +/- (FN-F11/F12) - Works but call to apple script is extremely slow (I stick with Spark at the moment CTRL-F11/F12 as it is fast and displays a nice OSD)

Half-working

• CardReader off (Silver Button 3) - does not seem to come back on

Keep me posted if you'd like me to test some new versions…
I'll try to think of scripts to assign to the remaining FN keys… ;-)

I haven't checked out pentiumpc's USB or VGA fix. Did you have those also?

I'll test it out as soon as I get home.

Now I understood that when you put the dsdt.aml file into the root directory is the last step to enable this dsdt file xD

I have installed the package, I rebooted my computer, and!!!

A lot of things don't work properly:

xD So I'm still waiting for more testers :p

I only need this for it's Volume FN Keys to work mainly but bonuses are welcome.

My DSDT.aml I use at the moment has Camera on/off button working, Bluetooth on/off button working, Wifi on/off Half working, Backlight on/off working. Brightness is a gimme using either the framebuffer kext or I could tinker around with getting it running in my dsdt.aml.

I'll ask pentiumpc if he wouldn't mind sharing the source.
With a combination of the following and the dsdt.aml fixes all FN Keys would have their proper functionality.

• change video resolution
• open a program
• detect display
• volume mute
• volume +
• volume -

The troublesome ones would be

• getting wifi to turn back on after being turned off
• switching displays (combo of applescript detect displays might work)

Gonna try it ;)

I didn't touched anything esle, I kept my own dsdt file.

Well, there are a lot of bugs :(, it's not working well, no growl messages etc.

But I think it's due to the pacifist install and that I didn't touched the dsdt…

Will try to go back to my previous settings, I'm waiting for you to test the package when you'll be back home :)

So I think the pacifist install only extracted files, and I don't want to install all things manually so I'll wait for more testers, but I saw the bluetooth hotkey worked, and sound too ;)

I'm hoping that by using the kext it will complement the missing functions like volume control.

You could maybe try making a backup of your own custom dsdt.aml file and test out the dsdt.aml provided by the kext and giving it ago. I haven't tested it yet so I'm not sure on it's complete effects.

I also have a 1000h with kabyl 1103 bios. If you want to wait I'll try first when I get home in the next 6-7 hours.

Well… there is a problem, I saw there is a dsdt file into the archive, but I did my own dsdt changes, all the changes available into the first post here: http://ipis-osx.wikidot.com/forum/t-121404/various-dsdt-fix-for-1000h

So will I lost all the changes I did? Or are they included into your dsdt file?

Also I'm running with the latest bios version, but with the kabyl 1103 bios for 1000h… so is it safe to do your changes?
