@gopowergoh

These headphones fold up and fit into the palm of my hand. I suppose it depends on the size of your side pocket.. I use a standard size lappy bag so no issues at this end. When folded up there is some give in them so they don't break.

As I always use my ultra portable PC on the move, I opted for a Bluetooth headphone solution, which is sufficient (at least for my requirements) and sound great.

The headphones I currently use are the Sony DR-BT21G

In the meantime, you can still get sound (just not from the internal speaker) by using a USB sound adapter like the Syba (on newegg for $7). Works great, but i admit, having native sound would be much nicer!

well thats great news. please keep us informed. i was going to give it a week or so before i decide on which to sell. there is no need for 3 little laptops LOL i just wanted to actually check them all out since i knew i would get my money back when i sold them. the only way to do that was buy them since there are not any stores that i can go look at them except for the Aspire One which was available at best buy.

although slightly larger the 1000h is definitely my favorite.

thanks and good luck

Internal mic support is definitely connected to everything working. While everything is connected together, it isn't all or nothing though, we may only have partial sound or full. I still have to run tests on the numbers I found. What doesn't make this very easy is that Taruga and others have no documentation out there as to what needs to be changed. It's very commendable that they are determined to put out a user-friendly one-step patcher, but when they take vacations like right now without documentation it kind of leaves other people in the dark about finding solutions.

Wow that's good news!

If you succeed, do you think the internal mic has good chance to work as well or is it totally unrelated?

I wish you luck!

mitro.

Actually, two of us here (myself and codeye) are quite close to cracking the sound codec. No promises, but I think I should have a valid configuration for it soon. If my research is correct, then we should expect working internal sound within the week.

If we don't succeed, I will at least be posting my complete findings to make it easier for other audio hackers like Taruga.

i have been able to get everything working on my 1000h except for sound :{

i sold my macbook recently in order to move to ultra-portable and so far this is my favorite machine but without sound i am at a lost because i sooooo want to keep this one.

i currently have:

-Aspire One w/ 250GB and 1.5GB RAM which runs iATKOS v4i very well but is a loser to me because i now like the larger screen and 6 cell battery life. so this one is going to go. nice machine but i like the 1000h much better for the keyboard, screen, battery life, and touch pad. i can get a 6cell for the Aspire but having now used the 1000h i can't go back.

- 1000h can't complain about anything except for sound and i sadly dont see it getting fixed.

- MSI WIND and it just works. i replaced the wifi card with an apple N wireless card and although i dont want to this to be my decision i may have to lean this way because it has sound.

i am hoping that a sound fix will be found before i pick one of these and sell the others.
