Any chance? I have tried the Kalyway 10.5.2 iso with no luck (hangs with an ACPI error when booting the disc). Pulling the iDeneb down now, am I wasting my time?
Thanks!

Are you using a modded BIOS? You can DL one here:

I tried to install that bios and it gives me an error bios too old or not supported by this mobo.
I poked around and found this for flashing older bios'

Are you installing OSX on the internal SSD? If so then I'm very interested in the speed of the SSD with OSX installed, as I'm planning to get a 900A myself (as it seems they won't release the 900HA in here in Switzerland nor Germany :-/ )
The speed with the MLC ssd is ok, there are times where it will sit there and think for a sec or 2 but not too bad. Definitely won't be using it as a main computer but is usable.
I've been documenting the install procedures I used, i'll post them when I finish. Now if i had only made a backup before I tried to apply 10.5.5 :(
Hello, I have my 900a running iDeneb 10.5.5 and the following working.
video w/quartz extreme at 1024x600x32
battery / power save
trackpad
USB and card reader
I have internet access but only if I plug in my WWAN 3G modem (USB AirCard 875U)
I can't get the sound to work, internal wired ethernet, or 802.11 wireless card.
sound I can live with out, but not having either wired or wireless ethernet is a pain (even if my WWAN is working).
Any ideas or help you can provide? Have you gotten ethernet working without having to replace the card?
Thanks
Scott
Hey Scott,
I ended up buying a dell 1390 and swapping out the wifi card. They are pretty cheap and its not too tough to replace. This guy has a video tutorial on how to disassemble the laptop (http://tigeroneeepc.wikispaces.com/Install). As far as I have been able to gather there isn't a driver for the ethernet or stock wifi card.
Sound is pretty easy to get running, to get it running I used a hybrid of the fixes on this site:
Get the following
Hagglebeef kexts here http://rapidshare.com/files/157602713/eee901kext4sound.zip.html
Then follow this http://ipis-osx.wikidot.com/the_sound_tutorial
Let me know if you run into any other issues
Thank You for the information about the Sound. I will give that a shot later tonight. Right now I am working on reinstalling and then trying to get the Wireless working from some folks over at insane mac who claim to have it up and passing traffic. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=138351 I will let you know what I am able to figure out.
Scott
Well I now have sound, WiFi, Sleep, Screen Size configured for 1024x600 without Resx, SpeedStep, and Trackpad working. All of this is loaded onto an 8 gig SD card in the side of the machine. Next step purchase a 64 gig SSD replacement and move everything over.
Scott
P.S. I don't suppose you know of any great posts that deal with what can be deleted in the OS to shrink it down. I have already run Xslimmer on the install and have it down to a little over 5 Gigs but I would like to see if I can get it down to under 4 Gigs.
Thanks again
Newbie here, I'm wondering to those of you with a 900A or 900HA, is there anything *not* working for you? Or is it all figured out now (sleep, wifi, sound, etc)?
I have a 900HA, and I'm holding out until I see someone have a completely working 900 system (and hopefully a detailed how-to).
awesome work!!
Hi svandive,
which guide do you suggest for 900A?
IDeneb 1000H install or iDeneb 10.5.4 install
Thanks
Can someone with a 900A try to plug in an external monitor? It should be working, but on my 900A this freezes my system… Now I need to know if it's a software or a hardware problem (it shouldn't be an installation problem, though, as the problem arises as soon as I install the GMA950-/natit.kexts needed for the 1024x600-resolution right after the iDeneb-install).
Hi there,
I just tried to install OSX iDeneb 10.5.5 on my EEE 900A - I followed the 1000H instructions. The install went great but when it tried to start up for the first time it just hangs and presumably crashes on the grey apple loading screen. This is my first hackintosh so any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Caroline
Have you checked the BIOS settings ? Make sure you have things set up as per the installation doc.
Have you installed any kexts at all ? Or is it a vanilla install ?
Did you make sure you set the installer options exactly as specified ?
Exactly which BIOS are you running ?
Hi there - how do I get this site to email me when someone has replied? I thought watching the topic would do…
Anyway, my bios settings are the same as much as they can be - I followed everything to the letter.
Yes I have kexts installed.
If I do a step by step install it hangs at the 'using 5242 buffer headers…' line.
Bios is 0703
Did you install the modded BIOS from the OSXCores website? Also I did disable the Boot Booster option (or however it's called in the BIOS). And during the installation don't cancel the install media check, just to be sure the DVD is ok. Oh, and don't have an external display plugged in during the boot before you know that it should be working…
And if anyone did something special to get the WiFi card working, please describe how it's done. I couldn't get mine to work even though I followed the installation instructions to the letter, too…
It took me about 5 tries to get OSX running on my 901. The big sticking point for me was to find the correct BIOS versions and sequence of updating that made it work. On mine I had to install vanilla BIOS 1011, and then install OSX and the kexts. Only after I had done that and confirmed it would boot did I upgrade to the latest hacked BIOS. If I tried to install the hacked BIOS before I installed the kexts or before I installed OSX I would get hangs on boot. Once I sussed that sequence out everything else in the guide seems to have pretty much worked - except the camera and WiFi card drivers. I can live without a camera and I've ordered a new WiFi card which works with OSX.
Thanks everyone - Ill try the modded BIOSs- just got mine from the ASUS site,
ta,
Caroline
Oh dear its saying the Modded ROM I downloaded is too old or not compatible - probably cause I upgraded to latest version of BIOS before :( What can I do?
Follow the link in the fourth post of this thread by sera123k. There they talk about a tool named AFUDOS which you need - see the last post of that thread, there's also an instruction how to use it. Worked very well on my 900A (thanks to sera123k for finding that solution!).
Thanks so much everyone… IT WORKED!! xxx PS I initally couldnt get out of the registration screen, kept on looping but this did the trick http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=69878&st=0&p=511290&#entry511290
Hey everyone, I'm new on this forum but I've managed to get 10.5.5 running on an 8 GB SSD in my 900A (man, I hope I got the terms right…). My question is about the GMA950 kext, because it crashes my computer everytime I try to install it and I don't know how to get rid of it once it's on there other than doing a complete reinstallation of OSX. All this talk I've seen on forums about how each Eee has different setups has me worried because I can't keep restalling the thing. People posting on this thread seem to have fixed the resolution - are you guys doing it with the GMA950 kext in all of the installation packs or something different? What does the 900A need? Can someone give me a link to a post-install pack that definitely works on the 900A (or a clear-cut guide on how to remove kexts from the root menu would be pretty cool too)?
Thanks!
I could use some help too… i FINALLY got my WiFI working on the 900A (with the integrtated card on the 900A woohoo!), but my resolution is stuck @ 800x600.. everytime i reinstall the GMA950 kext along with it's framebuffer counterpart, I reboot into a blue screen. Only fix is to delete them from single user mode. I tried SwitchResX but when I set a custom res and reboot, it says it needs to be activated after reboot. Infinite Loop….
I would LOVE to get the resolution working properly!
make sure your removing all of the following before putting in the new kext…
AppleIntel950.kext, AppleIntelGMA950VADriver.bundle, AppleIntelGMA950GA.plugin, and AppleIntelGMA950GLDriver.bundle
Then use osx86 tools to activated quartz extreme. no need for switch resx. If i find the link to the kexts i used i will post
Here they are:

works amazing… for more info go here:
http://ipis-osx.wikidot.com/forum/t-113947
Thanks smitcha! That fixed my resolution problem! I got the WiFi working once using the internal card but after I rebooted I was never able to get it to work again.. so i bought a dell 1390 card on ebay for $16 w/ shipping and i just got done installing it.. os x picked it right up!
My last issue is to get power management to work.. my battery icon doesn't even show up in the menu bar, any direction to what kext to use?
Thanks again!
I know that there have been links to the BIOS downgrader, and to the iDeneb 1000H install, but can I get a definitive answer? Which BIOS should I flash to the 900a to get me past the "com.apple.boot.slist" not found message when I try to boot from the iDeneb 1.3 DVD?
Sorry if this has been answered above - I looked and didn't spot it.
Use the 900a bios located in the file…
http://www.pd.net/eeeboot
Use that along with iDeneb 10.5.5

Hi, I too am trying to install OSx86 and my 900A, and I'm in a bit of an odd spot. I'm currently working on a RunCore 16gb SSD, but it's not internally recognized by my Eee Pc yet. However, I can begin booting to it as an external USB drive, but I'm only reaching the gray Apple logo, which tells me I need the updated BIOS. I've tried all the links here, but keep running into the same problems — for osxcores, the zip file is corrupted for the 900A file, and tomshardware and pd.net are not even loading, just showing up as not responding.
If anyone knows where I can get this BIOS update, I'd really appreciate it. Maybe then I'll start to worry about how I can move it from external to internal.
Can I use this on The 900HA if I just rename the 900A bios 900HA.rom to get ideneb running?
I believe you could. Please do some more detailed comparision, starting from here. Visit the official Asus Eee forum and ask there what these differences really are. I believe the models differ only by the type and the size of the storage equipment used.

Hello all!
I am currently downloading Deneb 1.4 and I have a few questions as to what I need to do once it is completed….
I understand that there is a BIOS modification I need to make however where can I get the proper one for the 900A (I dont want to risk anything and on the OSXCORES site there is both one for 900A and one for EeePC 900A-0703…)
I currently have not upgraded the internal 4GB SSD in any way and I am wondering if the OS X installation will fit on it, or if theres any way to possible slim the languages OS X installs to help….
Also, I am a bit confused as to where/if there are currently any working drivers for the 900A's internal SSD
Any help appreciated!
Thank,
Anthony Alvernaz
Ah, one more thing…if it does not fit on the internal SSD, is there any way I could install it on a class 6 16GB SD card and leave my current XP install on the 4GB SSD :)…?
Thanks again!
This is an old thread, but it's the latest I've been able to find on how to get Mac OS X running on an EeePC 900A!
Are there any updates? Would someone please point me to a guide for how to get Snow Leopard running on a 900A, preferably with something like Boot-132 so that I don't have to hack a copy of the installer DVD?
Hi,
I set up 10.6.2 on my wife's 900a and I explained what I did on this post…
http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?s=&showtopic=222507&view=findpost&p=1499419
I'd like to streamline/update but she won't let me near it….
Thanks to all the previous posts on this topic. I am very close to getting OSX iDeneb runnin on my EEE 900A. I was able to get through the entire installation ( installing OSX on an 8GB SDHC card in the card reader slot) However, upon boot I hang at the Apple logo. I have let it sit there for an hour and get no progress into the actual OS.
I was wondering if this is due to the fact that I could never figure out how to "roll back" my bios using AFUDOS. I have the custom bios downloaded and AFUDOS, but am not able to boot from it? Any suggestions on what I need to do to actually get into the OS would be awesome!
My Hackint0sh on my AMD desktop was actually much easier than this has been! :)
Thanks!
