Sound works intermitendly on boot, seemingly always on return from sleep

Randomly on boot, the sound will not work. However if I put it to sleep, it seems to always work after resuming. Any idea on what the cause could be, or something I could do to fix this problem?

I just realized I posted this in the development forum, and probably should have posted in support.
