With all the Kext method of SMBIOS some computer don't show the right model on 10.5.6.
on my 1000H it shows as a Mac Pro, on the Network the icon is a Mac Pro Icon.. That is not very cool.
Here is a simple tutorial to fix that.
Things you need.
1. DMI_2043.exe or some other DMI edit software.
2. some way to boot into pure DOS. (I use a USB key)
Method.
1. Plug in you usb key, boot and press F12.
2. Select your Bootable USB key.
3. run DMI_2043
4. First Screen
Replace BIOS version with Boot Rom Version
BIOS Information
BIOS Vendor American Megatrends Inc.
BIOS Version MB21.88Z.00A5.B07.0706270922
BIOS Starting Add. Seg. F000h
BIOS Release Date 12/30/2008
BIOS ROM Size 512 KB
Press F10 to save.
5.Screen 2
For Serial No. add in Any 11 digit number. (apple's serial starts with W (IIRC))

Press F10 to save.
6. Screen 3
Add in the following, blank out Manufacturer and Product, use the same serial as the previous page.

Press F10 to save.
7. Reboot and and remove any SMBIOS fixes and Check your System Profiler.
