following problem:
normally i set the hotkeys Win+F10 'till F12 for volume control with Spark.
so if i press win + f11 volume goes down, if i hold f11 it goes faster etc..

BUT i dont know why because on further installs it worked, if i hold down win+f12 nothing happens.. i was searching and i think it has to do with the eject function that this key has on macbooks without extra eject key. therefore if you hold f12 more then a second it would eject your cd/DVD. this function blocks my volume control.. could this problem caused by the Enable Remote CD - Function of NBI? or do you know any way to disable this eject feature??

Here is how it is from my side…
Pressing and Holding F12 = starts Dashboard
Pressing Command + F12 = does nothing (Command is the Alternate key on my Eee PC keyboard)
Pressing Option + F12 = does nothing (Option is the WinKey on my Eee PC keyboard)
Pressing Fn + F12 = increase volume (I believe Fn key is supported through Sparkle)
Pressing Control + F12 (shortly) = increase volume (shortcut was added in Sparkle)
Pressing and holding Control + F12 = shows power button dialog (same dialog shows up if I press Power button)

thank you! you clearified that the eject function is the problem, because holding f12 does nothing for me and for you it starts dashboard, so your system doesnt react on how long you press f12! therefore this means there must be some configurationfile which tells the system that you have a keyboard with eject-button so f12 doesnt need to react. hmm i think i need this xD but dunno where this could be xD

I am not sure you got my point. In fact my Mac OS X does detects the holding of F12 (when combined with control key there are 2 possibilities: increase volume or show power dialog). In fact, Starting the Dashboard by pressing F12 once is a standard behavior. Please, check with settings in the appropriate Preferences pane. I got an external DVD-RW drive, but pressing Option + F12 has no the effect you describe (Option is the EeeMac WinKey actually). I am convinced this is related to the custom BIOS and DSDT I am using and probably to some other optimizations I have made (I am using the latest HotkEee). I think this should be related to the proper DSDT you are using and to the way it is set to support your EeeMac keyboard (as I remember the Fn key support as well some more features were added in my latest DSDT mod, but this may not be fully compatible to the Snow Leopard you are with). // Regards, NF

no no i got your point, but for me this is new, on further installs the combination works!! Same bios AND dsdt! and no matter which functions other key-combinations with f12 result in mac, my point was just if its possible to make my system think that it has the eject button to make the holding-f12 action obsolete!
