Here are the DSDT files (one for 2 Gb and one for 1 Gb RAM) with all stuff for Hotkeys.

You can find the new bios on asus site. The only news is Win 7 compatibility. It works with Snow here.

It doesn't include the hack for Win 7 activation, as you just have to find the good crack if you need it.

And the most important for me, how u managed the Screen size problem? a lot of apple apps (Ilife) were cutted, because of the resolution off our screen ;S

I hope you are right.

Earlier this year I installed 10.5.2 using genuine retail disc and updated to 10.5.5, then 6, 7 and 8 - I have never encountered any problem using vanilla kernel.

And it was fixed in the build released the following day.

This was a bunch of non-news from a developer seed. Same thing happened when they changed the way the RTC was used in one of the 10.5 builds (I think it was 10.5.6).

I have been working on write a guide to install OSX on eeepc 1000HA

The first impresions:

- The BIOS: OS X work on almost 1000ha bios but works perfect on 1902 bios
- The distribution iDeneb: I chose this why works like a charm but only the 10.5.7 version. In the other did not work for me the video (NO QE and CI) consequently i dont play any video.
- in other distributions other arrangements had to be applied, example fix resolution and fix QE and CI with OS86 tools.
Instead in the 10.5.7 works like a native video driver. And from a couple a weeks has relase a 10.5.8 drivers, this no work like a native driver but with fixes works well.

Currently working

- Fix some kernel panic (I guess that is because the bios 2102)
- Try to downgrade bios 2102 to 1902 with AFUDOS (creating a usb boot from WinXp)

In a couple day i post the results here.

See you soon

Hello Guys!!!

Well I'm a 1002HA owner…

I just looked around internt to see if there's something for AR928X wifi cards so we 1002HA owners could put OSX on this little machines..

Found some stuff:

Apparently Snow Leopard (10.6) recognizes AR9280 and AR9281.. but no one says it works fine…

Here are some interesting links:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiversion/index.php/t171641.html the most interesting thread is this…

http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.6.0/Portables and here we go, it is in the list of compatibility…

Anyone will get a try on Snow Leo?? I'm really out of time until january so I can't go any further with this until there… if anyone could get this to try we would be really happy

Apparently Apple finally decided to ban hackintosh on netbook.

Read here: http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2009/11/snow-leopard-update-blocks-intel-atom-kills-hackintoshes/

I personally think they are going to launch the tablet Mac early next year, netbook running OSX is bad for their business.

Don't upgrade to 10.6.2! Atom-chip is not supported. by OsxicOsxic, 1257237452|%e %b %Y, %H:%M %Z|agohover

Forgive me for asking a stupid question, as I'm an OSX newbie, but is there a source somewhere that details how exactly to place that file at "/Volumes/Mac OS X Install DVD/System//Library/PrivateFrameworks/Install.framework/Frameworks/OSInstall.framework/Versions/A/OSInstall" and make sure it's executable?

I have the Snow Leopard retail DVD, an external DVD drive, plenty of USB sticks, and a system that can boot into OSX on a GUID partitioned drive (but not the way I want it to). I basically want to get around the restriction Snow Leopard not allowing installation on a MBR partitioned drive.

Allegri, there is another thread you may find useful answers about Snow Leopard on Eee. It runs and it is usable according to others. As I said:

I hardly recommend everyone to stick to 10.5.8 and install SL on an external/backup drive or to use other device.

Just because if you use your Eee for important tasks as I do you won't take any risk to compromise your system. I believe eNik and thireus have provided the comparative data you need on their sites. I did the above post mostly to mention the sharware aspect of the SwitchResX utility we are using to change the resolution on Eee.

No, it's really bad. I have updated my OS X to 10.5.8. and I can't get normal resolution. Only 1024*768 no matter what I did. I applied all possible kexts, patches..nothing works for me. Can someone upload reall working video kexts for eee 901?

Thanks for your post zmeYpc!

because that has been my question besides all practical questions of Snowy and Eee. Is it really any point with SL and the Eee? Is it just for fun or for any use? I'm about to change but should I? Post your experiences of SL compared with Leo, different apps etc.. (don't intend to hijack the thread, but now when the discussion started)

I am glad that there are still people that do like 10.5.8 and don't move to Snow Leopard. I believe our CPU is not powerful enough and has an older architecture to be SL effecient (N270 is purely 32-bit CPU). I hardly recommend everyone to stick to 10.5.8 and install SL on an external/backup drive or to use other device. I want to recall something about the SwitchResX: this is a shareware application and sometimes people forgot they got only 10 days to use it, if they don't buy it. Some days ago I bought a fresh Adobe CS3 Designer license and removed my CS2 software in order to install the new one… What was my surprise to find that I was not able anymore to switch my dispay resolution to 1024 × 768, as it was required by the Adobe CS3 Setup in order to proceed… Well, I realized the fault was in my expired SwitchResX software. I had to buy it in order to install the CS3. :) // Regards, NF

Re: 10.5.8 working nicely by zmeYpczmeYpc, 1256799799|%e %b %Y, %H:%M %Z|agohover

Hi, new to the forums, and hoping this one is still live. I have been fully successful with two 1000H models.
So why not go for a 1000HD, right?
I keep hanging at the initial install, get timed-out, and then a reboot to Windows. When I run in -v I get:
bsd root disk1s3 major 14 minor 5 (sometimes minor 6),
and ends with syncing disks killing all processes, and then the reboot.

I am using the modified bios (ver 1001, dated 9/22/08), from http://osrom.net/biosmod for the 1000HD.
There seems to be some thought that the hang is due to the bios, so at the risk of creating a $250 brick, I have tried several times to use the hacked 1000H Bios (ver 1902), but this 1000HD won't be accept it.

Any thoughts?
